Day 135: May 15

Today, we started our day in the old city of Jaffa, which is a part of Tel Aviv. It is beautiful, complete with stone streets, narrow pathways between buildings, markets, and a port on the beautiful Mediterranean….not to mention all the history!

This photo is a view of downtown Tel Aviv from Jaffa.

After we walked through and ate an authentic Israeli lunch, we went to Independence Hall (think Philly) and saw the exact room (bomb shelter) where the official state of Israel was formed on May 14, 1948. We also went to Rabin Square and learned about Rabin’s assassination. Lastly, we spent some time on a wonderful Mediterranean beach!
