Who doesn’t love promotions for a good cause? My apartment building is accepting donations for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. At just 1-year old, Alex Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer. After having a stem cell transplant, Alex wanted to open a lemonade stand in order to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Others inspired by the selflessness of a little girl wanting to help others just like her, opened lemonade stands all around the world and donated all the proceeds to Alex and her cause. By the time young Alex passed away at age 8 in 2004, she had raised over $1 million to “help find a cure for the disease that took her life.” Since then, the foundation has raised over $50 million! I’m happy to contribute to such a great cause.
