I am writing this post on my phone as I sit at the gate. We board in 1 hour. Right outside the window is the big steel vessel that is going to fly us to a faraway land! It’s tough to think about being so far away from family and friends for so long, in a world where reading makes my eyes cross and certain comforts of home may be hard to find. I have no doubt that we will be able to adapt well and I think the fact we are so excited about the experience and embracing another culture will really help. It may just take time, but that’s expected.
The world is a lot smaller than we think. This is 1 plane ride away from America. That’s it, just one plane ride! It might be a long 14 hours from Chicago, but it’s not an impossible feat or else no one would ever do it!
We were very lucky to be able to get seats together. Our flight was booked and paid for yesterday but since we arrived first thing this morning after our 6am flight, we were probably the first to request any sort of change. Apparently it’s a very full flight. We feel very fortunate and plan to use those new earphone splitters!
We feel so blessed to be able to experience this. My next post will come from Korea!! I can’t believe we’re 15.5 hours away from being there. Life is about to change but I’m excited for the journey!
