Here is my Day 3 submission for the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge for which I was nominated by Julia.
As a reminder, and in case you’re viewing this as a stand-alone post, here is the challenge description:
“The Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge rules require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you.
Then each day, nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge. Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command. And actually, everyone can join in. So feel free to if you like the idea.”
Please meet Soju Girl. I will share with you the story about how we acquired our dear friend, pictured here. The first time we saw Soju Girl, it was a cold and dreary night. She was standing alone amidst heaps of recycling and trash, on a deserted pedestrian street. The storefront next door to the essential junkyard in which she was, was fully operational the night before. The store had closed its doors and tossed all of its belongings – and people – to the curb. Soju Girl caught our attention and concern but she signaled to us that she was okay. A week passed by and we walked down the same deserted pedestrian street. We were with other company that evening so couldn’t stop, however, we also couldn’t help but notice that Soju Girl was still there! The next morning, we took a leisurely stroll that coincidentally led us back to the trash area. As expected, Soju Girl hadn’t moved an inch. After some contemplation, we decided it would be in all of our best interests if she came home with us. After Kevin walked back with her in broad daylight, she was overjoyed to be out of the junkyard and in a cozy home. She’s so kind, she even offered to help air dry my clothes. She holds them for me as long as I want. What a great friend!
I would like to nominate Ompong from Photo ni Ompong to complete the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge. He takes amazing photographs of his beautiful country of The Philippines. Ompong, it’s up to you whether or not you decide to partake in the challenge! 🙂
