That smile, though…

We’ve been continuing with parent-teacher meetings. I’m the only foreign teacher that has actually had to meet with parents, but I don’t mind. It’s a little awkward because not all of them speak English and I talk to them as if they understand me while the Korean mentor teacher translates. Anyway, one of my student’s moms brought us in some Starbucks gift cards which is very generous! I was upset on Teacher’s Day because this particular student’s brother gave his teacher a gift card with a lovely note, while I didn’t get anything, but this makes up for that. I deeply appreciate the sentiment, and will enjoy some Chai lattes on top of it.

Another month, another birthday party at school! This time it was Kevin’s turn to lead. Here are some photos of him doing his thing interviewing the birthday kids! Interviews consist of questions like, “How old are you today?” and “What do you want for your birthday?”
Since one of my students had a birthday, we took a class photo. Well, I wasn’t in it. The class’ Korean teacher took some shots of just Jaden and me but I don’t have access to them. The kids are way cuter, anyway. Quite hard to get them to pose, though!

Since the other female foreign teacher left our school last week, I have since switched to teaching the Arts & Crafts immersion class, as opposed to cooking. Cooking was going to be the death of me, so this is a welcomed change. It’s not all peachy, but it’s a lot better! Plus, the new teacher actually likes to cook so I think it’s more fitting.
This week, the 6 year old’s were drawing and coloring grapes!

Starting and ending this post with this little one! She’s only going to be at school through the end of June so I’m savoring all the time with her that I have! I can’t believe how much I’ll miss her. In art this week for her, the focus was on rainbows. She grew tired of the one in the sketchbook so I made her a little picture myself.
Hope you enjoyed the photos of the cute kiddos! Most of them have grown nearer and dearer to my heart over the last 3.5 months.
Next post will be about my weekend adventure in Bijindo Island!! Stay tuned!
