Enjoying Boseong Green Tea Plantation, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. June 2015

Hello, and welcome! Thank you for stopping by!

The Daily Snap is first and foremost a photography blog, but it has evolved over the years. It originated in 2014 as a 365 Project blog. I kept to a similar 365 format for 2015, but with a lot more adventure as my boyfriend and I were teaching ESL in South Korea for 7 months out of the year.

After 2 years of taking a photo-a-day, I thought it was time for a change. In 2016, The Daily Snap will be focusing on quality over quantity. I want to participate in The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenges more frequently, and start participating in other photo challenges as well. I also want to bring my tripod on more local excursions and experiment with new techniques. I’m getting rid of the daily obligation in an effort to increase the quality of my work (or at least what I post, right? 🙂 ). I have a feeling this blog will further develop in 2016, but I don’t know all the details yet. I’m going to let it flow naturally and I hope you’ll join me along the way!

A little about me…

A Los Angeles native, I moved to the east coast for college and never left. I will always be a California girl (seriously, I hate winter) but my adventurous side keeps me open to exploring new places! I’m currently living in the Washington, DC metro area and work as an analyst. In my free time, I enjoy photography, being a tourist in my own city & beyond, reading, working out, and playing with cats. I hope to get one of my own in 2016.:)

    • Thanks for the visit back! Photography is definitely wonderful and hopefully I’ll be saying I’ve kept up with it since “way back when.” My dad is a photographer and that certainly had a very positive influence. 🙂

  1. Hi Ashley! Thank you so much for dropping by and for following my blog! I hope you’ll like my posts as much as I love your posts! I am a part time English teacher for Korean students here! I hope you and your boyfriend can visit the Philippines too! 🙂

    • Hi Alice! Thank you so much!! I have been nominated before but I never got around to doing it because I essentially lived at the office then. Maybe I’ll do it this time around. 🙂 Also, that’s so awesome you’ll be moving to Cheongju so soon! We will have to get together. Do you happen to know in what “dong” you will be living? I am in Sannam-dong.

        • Awesome! That’s not too far away. I think you’ll be near the bus terminals which is convenient! Cat cafe crawl sounds great. I only know of 1 but maybe there’s more! I recently learned there is a dog cafe, too! Not quite as exciting but still pretty cute. 🙂
